This was the culinary highlight of our vacation. The reviews were great, and for a reason. Debbie was our server and was one of those people that are just made for the position. Debbie was fast and accurate and had a wonderful personality. We started with the Ribs and Grits appetizer. You MUST get this! The flavor was so unique, it was a great dish. We also had cornbread, which was the lightest cornbread I have ever had. It was almost the texture of cake and was a little sweet. My wife had the Fish and Chips, which were stellar. I got the Jambalaya and it was fantastic. It was filled with perfectly cooked shrimp. To top it off, the tea was excellent! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. You simply must go there.

We went there for our anniversary. We had a great time. Very cozy atmosphere, great food and service. Our waitress, Stephanie, was great! We will definitely be back. But next time we have to sit near the piano.

I came here with a girlfriend after a dinner outing at Gilbert's Underground. She knew the Bartender. We went for drinks only. The drinks this guy made was fantastic. I love the ambiance of the place. Everyone in the place were nice and jovial, even though we were strangers-they made us feel so welcome there. If you are out this way, you must stop for a drink.

What a beautiful experience ! Not only was the food great, but the service was absolutely amazing. Our server, Josh, was such a blessing. We never felt rushed and he was the most attentive and graceful waiter I have ever encountered. They were busy that night, but I couldn't tell since the service felt as though we were the only ones there! I ordered the fried chicken, collared greens, and mashed potatoes plate. It was all amazing - the best collard greens I have ever tasted! The entire dish was so delicious and filling. We had cheesecake for dessert, and boy oh boy was it a nice ending. The atmosphere is cozy, classy, and fun. There is a huge bar area for all of my fellow Amelia islanders or vacationers or want to have a nice meal accompanied by a few good drinks. 801 Kitchen and Bar will not let you down. You will love it.

Christmas Eve brunch. Great unique selection. I had Bubble and Squeak. Honey had the chicken and waffles. Mine was amazing but enough for two! The chicken and waffles were a bit of a disappointment but Honey has had some amazing chicken and waffles at 82 Queen in Charleston, so it had stiff competition.

The 801 Kitchen & Bar was a recommendation made to us from our Mixology Tour guide. Being just a couple blocks down from downtown Fernandina, we took a stroll in for dinner. Located in the historic district (but really, what isn't historic on Amelia Island?) the setting of having a restaurant dishing out southern classics in an old southern home makes for an inviting and relaxing one. For our appetizer, we went with the Steamed Mussels, which were great, and made even better by the delicious broth that accompanied them. The menu was a bit problematic for us in that we both found most of their dishes appetizing, so hard choices had to be made. I ordered the Peach and Soy Marinated Pork Chop (the Mac and Cheese and Fried Chicken breast also looked great) and the wife, always a sucker for pimento cheese, ordered the house burger. This was probably one of the best pork chops I have ever had, the soy flavor really made the dish and I could have eaten a pound of the grits that were served with the pork chop. The wife loved her Pimento Cheese Burger as well. So it was another night on Amelia Island, another great food outing. If you are craving some Southern/Soul Food in a nice setting at reasonable prices, 801 Kitchen is a great option.
